ASAP Rocky

by Michael

ASAP Rocky just signed a huge record deal, and has his first big mixtape scheduled to drop on Halloween. It’s been a busy/exciting month for the Harlem rapper, and just yesterday he dropped his latest single, “Bass,” off the aforementioned mixtape, LIVELOVEA$AP. Check out the Clams Casino produced track below, and be on the look out for more and more ASAP in the near future.

Ludacris

by Michael

Check out the latest track from Ludacris’s 1.21 Gigawatts: Back To The First Time tape, “I’m on Fire.” The track features Big K.R.I.T, a mellow beat, and the same ol’ Luda talking out the same ol’ Luda things. Download it below; 1.21 Gigawatts out November 15th.

Beyoncé

by Michael

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=XWCwc1_sYMY]

The music video for “Party” off of Beyoncé’s latest album, 4, was premiered tonight via her website and other forms of media. The video is for the remix which features J. Cole, and not Andre 3000 who was featured on the song when it first leaked. Say what you will about J. Cole, his mixtapes, his recent album, or whatever else you want, but ANDRE 3 Stack’s verse was one of the greatest of all time, and I WILL let J. Cole finish his verse, but the whole time I will be wishing it was Andre. For the most part, the video encompasses everything I would want my life to be like if I had a choice, including Mrs. Jay-Z’s wife herself, and I will definitely watch the video many more times but it will be muted, and I will play the ORIGINAL version, because I fancy that much more than anything I’ve ever heard. Thank you and goodnight.

Terius Nash

by Michael

The video for “Ghetto,” off of Terius Nash’s 1977 album was premiered today. The song, featuring Big Sean, is one of the best off the already brilliant album, and features Nash doing ghetto things like hanging out in front of grocery stores or riding bikes, and only has ONE ferrari, and ONE super model chilling in a pent house suite. See! Mr. Nash totally knows how to take it down a notch! Watch the video below, and download the album fo no money here.

Dawn Golden and Rosy Cross

by Michael

I may be really late on this in blogsphere terms, but I am extremely grateful to have heard it nonetheless. Dawn Golden and Rosy Cross is a recording project from Chicago producer Dexter Tortoriello, who is also known for his bliss-pop work as the artist Houses. “White Sun,” is a beautiful piano-based track that features some heavy drums, a little bit of chopped up vocals, and a heavy lament from a man that seems really down. The song offers hope though, and speeds up a little towards the end! Stream/download “White Sun” below, which is off their debut EP Blow.

Rostam

by Michael

The latest project from Vampire Weekend/Discovery‘s Rostam Batmanglij is called Rostam. It sounds like Vampire Weekend meets Asia, but in the best way possible. Really good song, makes you feel good inside, and I can’t wait to hear more from whatever Rostam is exactly, in the near future. Download/stream “Wood” below (singing doesn’t come in for like a minute and a half, so be patient, it will be worth it!).

Silky Johnson

by Michael

Check out a recent beat tape from producer Silky Johnson. The mixtape, HATER OF THE YEAR, is of the same quality, and genre as dudes like Clams Casino (simliar to his Instrumentals mixtape), and Main Attrakionz’ most recent mixtape (on which Silky also contributed a beat). Download the whole thing by clicking the artwork above, but if you’re unsure, at least do yourself a favor and download the track, “Chasin’ Paper” which samples Lana Del Rey’s “Blue Jeans.” It is crack cocaine, I promise. Download/steam that below, and remember to check out the artwork above if you want the whole thing.

Azealia Banks

by Michael

Azealia Banks, is a 19-year-old female rapper from New York. She sounds like a happy medium between Nicki Minaj and Kid Sister. She shows influence from Minaj in her delivery and her ability to actually rap really well, and she borrows from Kid Sis in the beats she chooses to rap over. Her song “212,” featured below, is as uptempo and poppy as “Pro Nails” was way back when. The second song featured below is “Runnin,” which is produced by Lunice, (who is amazing) and showcases her real rap skills. She sounds right at home over the extremely well produced track, which is worth checking out if only to hear Lunice’s stellar production.”212″ showcases how versatile she is, from her flows to singing; and I feel strongly that she is 2011’s version of Kid Sister. Download/stream both below.

Drake x The Weeknd

by Michael

Relatively unknown Dj, Grizzle, has put together a stellar mashup of Drake’s single “Trust Issues,” which was remixed after its release by the Weeknd’s Abel Tesfaye. The mashup gives the illusion of the two trading lines and fits together seamlessly. This is a must download if you’re fans of the original or the remix. Download link below.

Small Black & Heems

by Michael

Long Island electronic group  Small Black collaborates with Heems of Das Racist on their latest track “Two Rivers.” The track features vocals from Small Black’s Josh Kolenik, and a completely freestyled verse from Heems. The synths and drums work well to give this track a really chilled out feel that has a really cool feel combined with Heems raspy voice. This track is off of Small Black’s Moon Killer mixtape, which features a couple more Heems verses and is supposed to drop November 11th.

The Internet

by Michael

The Internet put out their second release a couple of days ago, and it definitely impresses. Syd the Kid, OFWGKTA’s DJ, surprises again by singing beautifully, and sensually over a soulful beat created by Matt Martians. “They Say”can be found on the Odd Future sampler released yesterday on iTunes or here. Download the track below, and be on the lookout for The Internets debut LP to be released sometime before Christmas.

Lana Del Rey

by Michael

Jamie Woon recently remixed Lana Del Rey’s extremely popular song “Video Games.” The up and coming songwriter/producer, who is no stranger to r&b or a minimalistic dubstep style, takes out the piano part of “Video Games” and adds all those characteristics along with a shift in the pitch of her voice to give his take a really eerie feel. Stream/Download the remix below.

Diplo x Lunice x Julianna Barwick

by Michael

Check out Diplo in collaboration with Lunice as they remix Julianna Barwick’s already pretty chill “Vow.” They add some drums and funky synths to take the song from completely relaxing to a little hectic, but still mostly stay true to the songs comatose vibe. This track was taken from Matrimony Remixesout now on Asthmatic Kitty. Stream/buy the track below.
