The-Dream

by Michael

Due to The-Dream‘s latest album,  The Love, IV (Diary of a Mad Man), being delayed, he has put together a small LP for us to enjoy while we wait. The ten song LP is called, Terius Nash, which is who The-Dream was before he was The-Dream. You can download the ten song tracklist for free now on his website, but do it quick because he’s recently reported on his twitter that there’s a very good chance ‘DefJam,’ his record label, will make him take it down. The tracklist, featuring guest spots from Pharrell and Big Sean, is listed below:

01 Wake Me When It’s Over
02 Used to Be
03 Long Gone
04 Ghetto (ft. Big Sean)
05 Wedding Crasher
06 Rolex (ft. Casha)
07 Silly (Introducing Casha)
08 1977 (Miss You Still)
09 Wish You Were Mine
10 This Shit Real Ni**a (ft. Pharrell)
11 Form of Flattery

You decide!!

Toro Y Moi

by Michael

Chazwick Bundick is chillwave artist Toro Y Moi. Bundick has been formally creating music since 2007, and has put out two official studio albums. In preparation of his third EP, Freaking Out’s arrival on September 13th,I felt it appropriate to share the latest visuals for a song off his most recent EP. The spooky visuals are for the song “How I Know” and it is off Underneath the Pine, which you can download here.

Soulja Boy x Matt & Kim x Andrew W.K.

by Michael

Last week, Converse released their latest installment of their Three Artists, One Song collaboration exploration. This latest venture into mixing and matching of artists from different genres features on-again, off-again codeine head Soulja Boy, dance punk duo, Matt & Kim, and crazy rock guy Andrew W.K.. The song “I’m a Goner,” is a pretty catchy one, and blends the artists well over the Matt & Kim written base. Download it below, and check out the creepy video below which premiered yesterday on MTV2.

Lunice

by Michael

Lunice, Montreal hip-hop producer, master chef, and overall badass DJ, not only puts on amazing shows (which I hope to one day see live&direct) but also creates beats that will destroy your brain. Beats so good, you’re going to want to cook, say swag a million times, and dance as hard as this guy does. Recently, the Canadien homeboy put out his follow up EP to the massive work he put out earlier this year (Stacker Upper) in the form of One Hunned out now on LuckyMe. The EP is six tracks long, and features the song “Glow,” which Lunice has put out a trippy video of him cooking too. Check that out below, and, if you want a little taste of what’s in store for the album, you can also download “Guardian,” which was premiered on the Fader below. One Hunned is sure to be fire and def worth the money so you should be sure to cop dat.

Game x Tyler, The Creator x Lil’ Wayne

by Michael

Hear “Martians vs. Goblins” below, the latest single off of the Game’s The R.E.D Album. The song features a pretty dark, Odd Future-esque beat, and only a small hook from Lil’ Wayne. It’s a pretty interesting combination, with the Game’s L.A. gangsta mentality mixing with Tyler’s L.A. skateboard mentality. Check it out below, and be sure to buy The R.E.D Album when it comes out August 23rd.

Drumma Boy x SBTRKT x Shabazz Palaces

by Michael

Drumma Boy, well-known hip hop producer known for producing tracks like Waka Flocka’s hit single “No Hands,” takes SBTRKT’s song of the summer “Wildfire,” and chills it out a bit. He adds a pretty mellowed out beat underneath Yukimi Nagano’s vocals, and includes a feature from Shabazz Palaces front man Ishmael Butler to create a way more relaxed feel from the original. This version is sunset type of music, while I’d associate the original version with being party music. Check it out below.

“Cut Me Out” by MDNR

by bspener

Check out this track by MDNR— not a particularly new track but it’s definitely worth a listen. Singer Amanda Warner has a great voice–not Mariah Carey but she does sound good over a somewhat stripped-back electro beat.

Fam-Lay

by Michael

Just when you thought summer was over, Fam-Lay puts out the video for his latest single “Beach Cruiser.” Jackin a little bit of the Cool Kids swag, Fam-Lay has put together a solid summer song about BMX bikes with the help of some badass Neptunes production. Check out the video below and allow it to put you back in that summer groove before it’s too late.

by Michael

Watch the Throne, the massive collaboration album between rappers Jay-Z and Kanye West, hits iTunes, and since its already gone platinum, most of the world already had it long before the sun came up. But, anyways, before you download it off iTunes or download it illegally off hulkshare, you should read this article by the Madbury Club. It will help you truly appreciate the significance of Watching the said Throne. Click the photo to read the article. Thanx Madbury Club.

Lana Del Rey

by Michael

Lana Del Rey is New York singer-songwriter Lizzy Grant who just put out a song called “Video Games.” You can listen/download the track below and make sure to watch the video as well. I’m pretty sure her dream girl like appearance mushed together with weird clips will leave you feeling a a comfortable confliction right in the middle of depressed, happy, and triumphant (SHOUT OUT TO THE SOARING EAGLE AND AMERICAN FLAG at 4:25-4:28).

Chris Brown x Hudson Mohawke

by Michael

Shout out to Chris Brown for working with badass producers lately! Earlier this year dropping the smash hit “Look at Me Now,” produced by Afrojack and Diplo, and now coming out with “Your Body” produced by Glasgow producer Hudson Mohawke, Chris Breezy is working with producers that make beats that hit as hard as the young stunna himself. Check out the hilariously bad video for “Look at Me Now” and the not so much better video for “Your Body” (which features Chris Brown walking through some random city streests?) below. The HudMo produced track is good though, and although Chris Browns vocals don’t really add much to the song, they also don’t detract anything, so that keeps the song pretty balanced and still very good. Download it below and you can decide for yourself. UPDATE: Chris Breezy just dropped a mixtape called Boy in Detention featuring “Your Body” and a bunch of other songs produced by well known producers like David Banner, 9th wonder, and J.U.S.T.I.C.E League. It also features the song “Ladies Love Me” that showcases the canadien heartthrob Justin Bieber rapping(???). Click the artwork to download the mixtape if Chris Brown rapping is your preference, but if not, at least check out “Your Body.”

Heems of Das Racist

by Michael

Das Racist‘s Himanshu Suri, aka Heems, posted a new track on his Nehru Jackets Tumblr sometime in June titeled “Womyn aka HITCH (Demo?).” It has been played a ton of times by me this summer and I can’t enough of his hilarious flow which is an ode to women, and the catchy production. It is apparently a part of a project Suri has tentatively named Teens Found Slain.Give it a listen below.
